3.5kVa Hydraulic Generator

Hydraulic Generator

Our standard hydraulic generator utilises the same manifold across the range from 2.5kVa up to 12kVa with a maximum regulated flow of 37.9 l/min and a maximum operating pressure of 210 bar. Our smallest AC generator rated at 2.5kVa incorporates a 4cc hydraulic motor requiring 12 l/min.  For higher power ratings larger motors are utilised or where customer preference is for higher flow and lower pressure.

We utilise the same hydraulic assembly for both fixed and variable displacement pump systems, there is a LS (Load Sense) port on the manifold into which the LS line can be connected.

How to install a Hydraulic Generator
P1 is the pressure line from your pump, P2 is open when the generator is not in operation allowing oil to flow to the normal functions, when the directional valve is energised oil will be fed to the hydraulic motor driving the generator, flow to the motor is regulated by the pressure compensated flow control valve thereby maintaining a constant and fixed flow to ensure that the generator operates within operational parameters at all times. The unit is protected by the integrated pressure relief valve and the anti-cavitation valve protects against cavitation damage. Unlike most other hydraulic generators an oil cooler is not normally required the manifold and valves are designed to work with flow rates up to 60 litres per minute at 200 bar without causing excess heating of the fluid, although we have no control over the capacity of the tank or diameter of pipework used in the existing system which could generate heat in the fluid.

Variable Displacement Pump

Load Sense Hydraulic Generator
The primary difference between the fixed displacement and the variable dislacement pump is the inclusion of the load sense line, this is connected from the LS port of the generator manifold into the pumps existing LS line, typically using a shuttle valve, where the exisiting LS line from the pump is connected to the common of the shuttle valve and the generator and normal function LS line are connected to the signal ports.
